[mrtg] 64 bit counters - How do I find them?

Is it safe to assume that any device capable of gigabit speeds will have
support for 64-bit counters?  If so, where can I find them?  The reason I
ask is that I'm not getting the stats I expect to see on our gigabit switch
interfaces, leading me to believe that I've got the 32-bit overlap problem.

Switches in question are the 3Com 4005 and 4900, and soon the Cisco Catalyst
4006
and 2950 with GBIC.  3Com's web site was less than helpful to say the least.
