I have been using fire daemon since I started using MRTG with W2K and with
no troubles.
It has an MRTG walk through and it runs as a service so no need to log on
just to start your shortcuts.

Subject: [mrtg] flickering screens!

Hi listers,

I'm a long-time ( and extremely happy! ) user of mrtg, but until now
I've always been working on a *nix platform.

Now, I'm working on a Win 2k server, and I'm having a few teething
problems. I originally wanted to run mrtg as a scheduled job, but it
seems that you can only run them at intervals of 1 day or greater, so
I'm running it as a daemon job from a shortcut that's started at
login.

That bit's running fine ( although not the best way of doing it ).
The problem is elsewhere. One of the things I'm monitoring is an
oracle database. I've created some scripts to get the info, and run
them from the following line in the cfg script:

Target[db_1]: `sqlplus -silent user/pass at instance @script.sql`

That works fine as well. The problem is that every time an sql script
is called, an empty 'cmd' box opens up on the screen! Does anyone
know how to stop this???

Many thanks,

Steve
