[mrtg] Re: Odd behavior

I figured out what my problem was. In this case I was converting from
old style mrtg logs to rrd. THe problem is for some reason my .log files
had nothing but bare lines in them. Somehow all the data dissapeared.
Odd behavior and failing hardware on the source system are attributed
and are the reason I have been working on moving off it in the first
place. I was unable to recover my log files so I have to live with not
having a completely populated graph. At any rate. I removed the .log
file from my new install and ran it again and this time it didn't
complain. From what I've read and know, I presume that since mrtg is
smart enough to see a .log file when there is no .rrd file then it
assumes it needs to ugprade and will do it for you. However, since the
.log file was empty, this confused the process and caused it to howl for
mercy... Hope this helps someone in the future. ;)

Subject: [mrtg] Odd behavior
I'm working on migrating my MRTG infrastructure off of windows and over
to Linux. I've been having fairly good success with doing so. In some
cases I am migrating my RRD databases and in others my old MRTG log
files and converting them to rrd style as part of the migration. I've
encountered some odd behavior in trying to get one of the configuration
files to work. When I run mrtg against the config file I get the
following lines:

I'm a bit puzzled by these error messages because I don't know what they
mean and because ALL of my other mrtg configurations are working. I've
poured over the config files and even resorted to recreating them from
scratch, but I can't figure it out. I've attached a sanitized version of
my config file. Thanks in advance.
