I use mrtg-mailstats which I found via the MRTG Companion sites/links
page (at http://people.ee.ethz.ch/~oetiker/webtools/mrtg/links.html.)
It reads the output of the Sendmail mailstats program.

Note that you need to create the statistics file before mailstats
actually works.  I monitor two hosts at present - the mail mailserver
via running mailstats from inetd using a high port number and locally on
the monitoring system by reading the output of mailstats directly.
