[mrtg] leave scope inconsistency

Does anyone know what this error means?

2003-08-08 13:29:52 -- panic: leave_scope inconsistency at /opt/bin/mrtg line 86.

I'm polling by ifDescr.  It usually succeeds (no changes to config), but when the RRDs weren't updating, I sent the process a kill -TERM.  After the bailout log message, the leave_scope inconsistency shows up in the MRTG log.

Any ideas?
