[mrtg] How to understand down state at links ?

Hi,
I'm using 2.9.25 and set it up successfully. But i want to improve its capability with graphing down state conditions ? Is there anybody use this like utility eith MRTG ? For example we need to graph it with bold red line when the line is down.
