If you re-run cfgmaker, just set --ifref=name.
if you want to tweak them manually, you will want:
target[foo.1]: #Fa0/1:public at foo.router.com::::2
Naturally, cfgmaker is easier.
So, for example, I call:
/usr/local/mrtg-2/bin/cfgmaker --ifref=name --ifdesc=alias
--output=ecc-6500-yellow.cfg public at ecc-6500-yellow:::::2
and I get target lines like:
Target[ecc-6500-yellow_Gi1_1]: #Gi1/1:public at ecc-6500-yellow:::::2
Target[ecc-6500-yellow_Fa2_1]: #Fa2/1:public at ecc-6500-yellow:::::2
I upgraded code on all of my 100 boxes, changed a couple of chassis out,
and generally had a good time this weekend. MRTG never knew anything
