A little bit cleaner (no external script required) way to 
do APC monitoring is to use the template from:
http://mrtg.gvolk.com/template/host-apc.template.
This will give you traffic in/out, battery capacity/load,
battery temperature, input/output frequency, min/max line
voltage, and last reason on battery. It requires an APC9606
or 9617 card, and does not report on time-left-on-battery 
because APC returns this in HH:MM:SS format which would 
require an external script to turn into a single number 
(minutes) and I generally don't like using external 
scripts. ;)
