[mrtg] MRTG Templates

Hello
I've been looking over the somix mrtg template listing and in all of the
templates there are what looks like variables, ie. $CFGNAME, $HOST, $ABSMAX.
Are these variables that I can set in one place and then they get called by
that $xxxxx variable...or are they just there to make the editing process
easier.  Thanks very much.
