Ramu,

I created/tested all of my cfg files individually.  I then use a GLOBAL.CFG
that utilizes "includes" and include each one of the individual files.
GLOBAL.CFG is then used to run MRTG

...you can take this a step foward and use the custom ^ $ _ entries to the
global file for consistency across all pages.
