[mrtg] SNMP ports open

Greeting MRTG folks!

I'm new in mrtg and snmp, but I've successfully installed mrtg and it's 
running smooth now..
I got a question though...
I just ran nmap on my server and found to new ports that's open:

161/udp    open        snmp
199/tcp    open        smux

Will this cause any security problems, is this a firewall issue or snmp??? 
Anybody can help me please?? Can Ijust do a better job on my firewall 
rules??
