[mrtg] Re: Graphing Pings to router

I actually got it to work by removing the "gauge" option and now I'm seeing about 6k pings per 5 minutes and that seems legit. However, I have encountered something interesting. The second router, which is an HSRP peer to this one and pretty much with an identical config, is not giving any data on the graphs. Neither the graphic or the text is showing data.

I walked the oid and it's functional but the only difference is the quantity of pings to this router. This one is getting hit about 45 times a minute as opposed to the thousands per minute on the 1st router.

I tried searching through the docs and search engines for how to determine the maxbytes but can't figure it out.

Can anyone assist?

Thanks!

You need to have the instance number on the OID's. They should be:

Target[router_icmp]:1.3.6.1.2.1.5.1.0&1.3.6.1.2.1.5.8.0:string at router:

Hello,

I'm trying to track ICMP traffic to a Cisco 7204VXR. I have the
correct
OIDs and what I thought should be a working config (shown below).
These
routers are currently experiencing a ton of ICMP echos (long story and
they are valid) but the graph only shows a MAX of 1. I know I'm
missing
something. Any ideas? Again, here's the config minus all the html
stuff.

Thanks!

-Samson
