I run MRTG on Redhat Linux and use cron to schedule the jobs. I
redirect the output of the cron job by adding the following at the end
of the entry in the crontab file:

          &>/dev/null

I take it off if I need to check on something, and I also have an entry
in the /etc/aliases file so all mail to root goes to my real e-mail
address.

Is there any way to stop MRTG from sending mail? I have actually
filled my
/var because I did not realise that MRTG sends mail to the local root
account.
