If you're asking a question relating to the subject line, we've done some
custom hacks to monitor the Qkits temperature probes with MRTG.  The kit
units connect to an RS-232 port (router aux port, etc.) and is queried by
a python script.  Each kit can monitor up to four temperature probes.

We use it for keeping track of temperatures in our data centers.
