[mrtg] 2.7.2 to 2.9.25 conversion

Hello,

I'm working at upgrading the legacy mrtg setup our department from 2.7.2 to
2.9.25. So far, I have everything working the way I want except for one
being able to import all of the history.

The old format all of the old data files are named.

Switch1.domain.2.log 
Switch1.domain.2.html
Switch1.domain.2.old

Now the new format is 

Switch1.domain_2.log
Switch1.domain_2.html
Switch1.domain_2.old

I've written a script that will rename all of the files to the new version,
but I get the following error:

Rateup ERROR: mrtg2.9.25/bin/rateup found switch18.domain_25's log file was
corrupt
          or not in sorted order:
time: 1182212992.Rateup WARNING:.9.25/bin/rateup could not read the primary
log file for switch18.domain_25
Rateup ERROR: mrtg2.9.25/bin/rateup found switch18.domain_25's log file was
corrupt
          or not in sorted order:
time: 1039573800.Rateup WARNING: mrtg2.9.25/bin/rateup The backup log file
for switch18.domain_25 was invalid as well
ERROR: Skipping webupdates because rateup did not return anything sensible
WARNING: rateup died from Signal 0
 with Exit Value 1 when doing router 'switch18.domain_25'
 Signal was 0, Returncode was 1

Is there a good way to convert the data to the new version?
