you need to setup MaxBytes to the real maxbytes of your 
interface, or the data in the log file will be repeated; or, 
if you're using the Options[inteface_name]: unknaszero, the 
data will be saved as Zero.

take a look at http://www.mrtg.org , the configuration 
reference section for those options MAxBytes and unknaszero.
