[mrtg] Graphing DisplayString type variable

Hello !
I'd like to graph temperature of an AlliedTelesyn AT-PBM02 SNMP card.
Unfortunately the correponding MIB variable is DisplayString type.
The result is in the form: + 31.5 C
Is there a way for MRTG to convert such a string into in an numeric value ?
