What I did (don't know if this will help you) was make a copy of perl.exe
in the c:\perl\bin folder and rename it to mrtg.exe.  That way, I would
run MRTG with mrtg.exe.  When I needed to kill the process from a script,
I would simply kill /f mrtg.exe.
