[mrtg] decreasing mrtg polling interval

Hi,
I need to monitor line utilization of a cisco router for determining the impact of an appication on the traffic it creates on the link. Howeever, I need to poll it more frequently rather than polling by its default value 5 minutes. What I wonder is  can I  see the line utilization for every polling interval 1 minute on the graph or is it plotted on the graph after 5 minutes?This is a basic question for how mrtg works but I am a bit confused here. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
