Now see, that's what I would have assumed, but I swear to you, it's only
outputting to the screen and not to a .cfg file. After I issue that
command, there is NO mrtg.cfg file in my current directory. And I am
issuing

--output=mrtg.cfg with two dashes, for some reason my e-mail program
decided to help me out and change two dashes into one when I wrote the
e-mail...

The mrtg config file will be placed in the your current directory.
Example:
C:\MRTG\bin>perl cfgmaker public at 192.168.0.1 --global "WorkDir:
c:\www\mrtg"
-output=mrtg.cfg

would place mrtg.cfg in the C:\MRTG\bin folder

Subject: [mrtg] New Installation Question

I just downloaded the latest version of MRTG. I followed the setup &
install directions on the Win32 page. The problem I have is that if I
issue the following command:

perl cfgmaker public at 192.168.0.1 --global "WorkDir: c:\www\mrtg"
-output=mrtg.cfg

I do not get a mrtg.cfg file. Where is this file stored? I searched my
entire hard drive, and the only mrtg.cfg files are in the mrtg contib
directory.
