If I understand you, you want to update the config file.  If that is the
case, you need to modify your script to update the config file BEFORE
before mrtg calls it!

If I am incorrect, I stand to be corrected.  See?  I'm standing!

And after that include $Myvalue as part of PageTop, or Title,
