[mrtg] Using Thresholds

Hi,
I am using some Scripts to be run, when a certain Threshold is reached.
By default the "$router" variable passed to the script is the name of
the target (e.g. sb-cr_13  etc). Is is possible to define a custom
$router variable ?
Problem is that some of my target names don't make much sense
(Especially the ones for interfaces), I would like to have a custom
$router variable on per-target basis.
