[mrtg] Graphs

I'm getting traffic information from many switchs.
My linux box is a RedHat Linux 9 and the version of MRTG is 2.10.11
I have a problem. The traffic information that MRTG gets each five minutes is not equivalent or proporcional to weekly, monthly and yearly. Why? Yearly information is 4 times less.
