All,
I found the solution for my problem.
I was not doing anything wrong with snmp but with the F5.
Somehow I had to add 127.0.0.1 as a host that is permitted to access
snmp.
Now it is all working.
Thanks for the help and the suggestions.
Martijn

Do you have an SNMP walk tool?
Try:
snmpwalk 1.3.6.1.4.1.3375
or
snmpwalk .1.3.6.1.4.1.3375
3375 is F5's Enterprise MIB, so you should see something.
There are two sets of OIDs listed on the vegan.net site. On is an older
set that was listed as "deprecated", but still worked (at least with
4.2) and slated to be removed at a later release. I haven't tested
against a 4.5 system (as I don't have access to a BIG-IP running 4.5),
so perhaps that is the issue.
For instance, for a 4.0 or later OID:
http://vegan.net/mrtg/view.php?Type=Object&ObjectID=8
And for a 3.x OID that did work on 4.2 for me, but perhaps not 4.5:
http://vegan.net/mrtg/view.php?Type=Object&ObjectID=9
That OID was marked "deprecated" in the MIB file.
Hope that helps,
Tony
