[mrtg] Logfile problem

I have posted a couple of Qs for tis issue but still researching and have
not found an answer. I have been looking at the log files and this is what
Im seeing. If log file are updating (I see this with the mrtg -logging
option I see the rateup command execute) but what happens is the file is
just overwritten. Below is a head of the .log and .old file

as you can see the .old file has a value for the 1091819968 time stamp but
in the .log file this timestamp has been reset to 0 0 0 0 and Im pulling my
hair out. I see no errors it just doesn't want to work.

I have no idea what all of it means and cant find anything online. So I
don't know if one of the params is telling it to overwrite or not. Can
ANYONE throw me a bone here, PLEASE...
