Hi folks,
Does anybody know of a tool (web based) that would allow us to narrow down
the date/time a spike occurred?

It would be like having a history button on the html page, to query the rrd
database based on a date / time and having the graph generated for that
specific data / time.

We currently use a shell script, but it is command line based and not
everybody that takes care of watching the graphs (using 14all.cgi) are
allowed to interact with the MRTG box, and only a few guys are familiar with
typing commands and passing parameters.

We know that Javier Szyszlican has done a hell of a job with his jffnms
(www.jffnms.org), and it does exactly what we want. The problem is that we
cannot change the environment that much in order to have jffnms installed
and configured, and it does demand more hardware than the one currently in
use.

Any hint or suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.
