[mrtg] MRTG + RRD probems with RRDs.* in some RedHat versions

Hi all

I have 2 MRTG+RRD servers running well for 2 years in RedHat 7.2, easy
installation.

But it comes an IBM server with RedHat enterprise 3 and I have to put MRTG +
RRD in it.
I dont manage to do it, it appears RRDTool has some library problems.
In order to try to fix the problem, I changed Perl 5.8 to Perl 5.6, and I
downloaded it from Perl.org and when installed it it created a separated
directory to itself.
When I do "mrtg xyz.cfg", it keeps returning errors about RRDs.so. So, I got
2 different RRDs.so just to test, one from RRD version 1.39, another from
1.48.

One of them gives the error:

/usr/local/ActivePerl-5.6/bin/perl: relocation error:
/usr/local/ActivePerl-5.6/lib/5.6.1//RRDs.so: undefined symbol:
Perl_sv_2pv_flags

The other does:

Can`t load '/usr/local/ActivePerl-5.6/lib/5.6.1//RRDs.so' for module RRDs:
/usr/local/ActivePerl-5.6/lib/5.6.1//RRDs.so: undefined symbol: PL_sv_undef
at /usr/local/ActivePerl-5.6/lib/5.6.1/i686-linux-thread-multi/Dynaloader.pm
line 206
compilation failed in require at /usr/bin/mrtg line 160.

What should I try now?
I have already changed $LANG from "UTF-8" to "C".
