I am having problems with a new MRTG install.
This is an older Linux box running 2.2.16 kernel.
I have installed zlib, libpng, gd-1.8 and gd-2.0, then mrtg 2.10.14.
I feel as though I have have followed the directions as close as
possible,
(more so than any other install), but am having problems getting MRTG
to
update information in it's log/database files.
When executing the "mrtg mrtg.cfg" program, I don't get any error
messages.
It creates all the graphics files, the html files, etc.
The problem I am having is there is never more than a single line
entry
in the "eth0.log" file.
e.g..
1088543401 31202136 655116
1088543401 0 0 0 0
1088543101 0 0 0 0
1088543100 0 0 0 0
No matter how long I wait, I cannot get more entries. I have mrtg
running on
multiple machines, so I am pretty familiar with how it works.
I ran mrtg --debug=(all options) mrtg.cfg
I tried to review all the entries it dumped, but I don't see any
errors, or exactly when
it updates the log files. It would appear that rateup is doing the
job, and I see a nice line
of info that makes it look like rateup has the proper info..
--base: Create Graphics
--log: Called /usr/local/bin/rateup /home/mrtg/ localhost_3 1088543857
-Z u 1054514958 92708 1250000 c #00cc00 #0000ff #006600 #ff00ff k 1000
i /home/mrtg/localhost_3-day.png -1250000 -1250000 400 100 1 1 1 300 1
4 1 %Y-%m-%d %H:%M 0
--base: Check for Thresholds
--base: Check for Write HTML Pages
--base: Exit main Loop
--base: Remove Lock Files
--base: Store Interface Config Cache
I am not sure where to look next.
Any hints?
thankx,
Jon
