If you upgrade to RRD, and use Routers2 as a front end, your problem is 
solved.
Create a separate CFG for each device, and (if appropriate) build a 
directory/folder structure with those CFGs in (eg one folder per city/ 
building/ wing/ floor)
The Routers2 front end then does the Indexmaker part of the work for you.
