If you are having to troubleshoot a single config causing everything else to
fail, consider starting MRTG with -logging.

I mean the timestamps on the cfg files should not be updating
with each poll. Only the resulting data files should be. You
are correct that you should be able to have a couple logically
separated (or illogical) to roll up into a big master config file.
Is it possible there is some problem with the first config file
preventing it from going any further? I think the files
are processed serially, so if there are problems, MRTG
will not proceed beyond the first file. Shuffle the order
of the inlcuded files around (put the top one at the bottom
for instance) and see if it gets further.
