[mrtg] 5324 MRTG and getting some order to my reports

I managed to get MRTG version 2.12.2 up and running with some initial
issues. I am having it generate me the usual MRTG reports, however, for each
of the 24 ports, I just get "Traffic Analysis for 1 --"

I would like to get more descriptive names for each port. I can hand edit
the config file, but the next time I make edits in MRTG and re-run it, they
of course will be written over.

I am pretty new to SNMP and MRTG, is there something in the switch I set so
that a more descriptive name can show up in MRTG?

As it is now, I am getting this:
