[mrtg] Question: pppoe reconnect and mrtg monitoring problem (snmp problem)

Hello *!
Since i've upgrade the kernel from 2.6.8 to 2.6.12-3 i've got a problem. A 
pppoe reconnect makes the ppp interface number increase.
Before the update the ppp inteface number was constant. Now i cannot properly 
monitor my broadband connection anymore.

mrtg-targets:
Target[adsl]: 9:*****@localhost
#packet counting:
Target[adsl_pks]:.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.11.9&.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.17.9:****@localhost

any suggestions?
