[mrtg] Spikes in mrtg-2.10

Hello all,
Ever since our upgrade to mrtg-2.10, whenever MRTG dies or the MRTG
server is rebooted, a huge spike occurs on almost every graph. This
causes problems with customers wondering how their servers could have
had a spike of 80Mb/s when they typically only push less then 512K.

While I know that I can set the MaxBytes, sometimes this is just not
viable, as the switchport may be manually set to 10Mb/s, but could one
day be set to 100Mb/s. Modifying MaxBytes with the arrival/departure of
customers in a network with thousands of switchports is just
unmanageable.

Again, this problem did not occur until the upgrade to 2.10. Anyone
else experiencing this problem?
