[mrtg] Problems Graphing an HP 5304 Switch

Good morning there.

We have MRTG graphing multiple switches and routers in our network.
Recently we swapped out an HP 2424 Switch for an HP5304. The moment we
made the change, I had to make a few config changes on the MRTG polling
machine, which wasnt a big deal. The problem now is that, some of the
graphs being generated off of the 5304 are....weird to say the least.
Its kind of hard to explain. There are spikes that go extremly high,
then extremely low, but as it goes along, there is a second line drawn
in between these extreme spikes, which is the actuall amount of
bandwidth going through (the correct amount),.

This is what the config looks like:

### Interface 1 >> Descr: 'A1' | Name: 'A1' | Ip: '' | Eth:
'00-0f-20-e5-27-ff' ###

Target[uplink-switch]: 1:secret_key at ip:
SetEnv[uplink-switch]: MRTG_INT_IP="" MRTG_INT_DESCR="A1"
MaxBytes[uplink-switch]: 12500000
Title[uplink-switch]: Traffic Analysis for Uplink Port
PageTop[1uplink-switch]: <H1>Traffic Analysis for Uplink Port</H1>
 <TABLE>
   <TR><TD>System:</TD>     <TD>Uplink Switch</TD></TR>
   <TR><TD>Maintainer:</TD> <TD>NetOps</TD></TR>
   <TR><TD>Description:</TD><TD>Uplink Port</TD></TR>
   <TR><TD>ifType:</TD>     <TD>ethernetCsmacd (6)</TD></TR>
   <TR><TD>ifName:</TD>     <TD>A1</TD></TR>
   <TR><TD>Max Speed:</TD>  <TD>12.5 MBytes/s</TD></TR>
 </TABLE>

Any ideas????

If you would like an outside pic of the graph, pleast let me know

thanks in advanced

John Barbieri
