[mrtg] Lost uptime when switched to RRDTool and MRTG-RRD

I just noticed that I lost my uptime information when I converted from 
Rateup.exe to RRDTool and MRTG-RRD.cgi. (shows how often I need it... 
I've been RRDTool for a long time now) Is there a way to get it back or 
an alternative to help me watch uptime of my Cisco switches and routers?
