[mrtg] unscaled not working all of the time, better description this time (sorry)

Hello,
This is an interesting issue with Unscaled. In the following mrtg.cfg,
the lower interface is affected by the Unscaled[_] default, but the
upper is not.
Graphs can be seen here:

The only difference I see is how I reference the interface, OID via
interface name. Using MRTG 2.12.1. When I put an Unscaled line in each
interface and drop the default statement, there is no apparent change (I
did wait for the graphs to update a few times).
Any ideas?
