Hi,
that is how mrtg works.

MRTG gets the value every 5 minutes and calculates for example the bytes
per second.
But your interface max throughput could be max greater for a short time.

And than after mrtg collects data for 30 minutes it take the values from
the last 30 minutes and calculates the Average.
And so the max from this 30 min. is the av. max from this time.

And so on.

Read the Manual and take a look at the Config-Reference:

WithPeak[myrouter]: ym

Taking this option the graph shows the peaks!

Greetings
Bastian

[mrtg] Strange max values

Hi,

Im having some problems with mrtg. Its acting strange, it graphs the
info right but when the html page is generated the "max" values that
appear bellow the graph is wrong.
The yearly graph is smaller than the monthly graph, that is smaller than
the weekly graph, that is smaller than the daily graph... phewww...

I noticed that when mrtg has more than one value to graph it works fine.
The script: "
/etc/mrtg/scripts/cpu_bb.sh oralinux.senior.com.br LINUX" returns 0 and
X, where X is the value readed.

Can someone give me some tips?

The config file is described bellow.

Thank you
