[mrtg] target OID value

this is a first post to the MRTG list so hope the query is in order,

it is reference the value that is entered for the 'Target' OID.

it seems that a number needs to appended to the OID as would be reported by the MIB
browser

could not find specific reference to this on mrtg site but examples suggest that
this should be a .0

this would not work, with MRTG erroring as it tries to collect the data

i found other examples which used as .1 and lo and behold this works ok !

the purpose of this post is to determine what 'science' there is to the value that
needs to be appended to be OID.

my first thought was that might reference the 'instance' of the object (eg CPU
number) being queried ??

TIA

GT
