I don't understand all the agony here. Here is an obfuscated version of
what we are running now, for one interface:
Target[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx_FastEthernet0_0_err]:
ifInErrors\FastEthernet0/0&ifOutErrors\FastEthernet0/0:community at xxx.xxx
.xxx.xxx
YLegend[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx_FastEthernet0_0_err]: Err
WithPeak[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx_FastEthernet0_0_err]: ymw
MaxBytes[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx_FastEthernet0_0_err]: 999999
Title[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx_FastEthernet0_0_err]: xxxxxx 2621XM
FastEthernet0/0 - Errors
ShortLegend[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx_FastEthernet0_0_err]: Errors
PageTop[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx_FastEthernet0_0_err]:
xxxxxx 2621XM
FastEthernet0/0 - Errors

All the above was hand-built and simply copied and changed for addtional
interfaces, but as stated, a template could be used if you want cfgmaker
to do more work for you. This one is for Cisco gear; for other junk we
often have to specify interface indexes instead of a nice name.

I tried a template I found at:

But I got a whole slew of errors.

Is there a command line arguement you could pass to cfgmaker to have
it
do
interface errors for each interface?
You could you a template with cfgmaker to accomplish this. There are
quite
a few good examples here -
