Craig,

The quick answer is no, plain MRTG can not deal with decimal fractions.

However if you use rrdtool as backend and an appropiate frontend decimal
numbers should be no problem.

If you don't want to use rrdtool the only way to display the decimal
fraction is to multiply the value by some figure.

In case of a value of the type 'gauge' you can use 'Factor[...]: ' to
multiply the figure you get from the script.
In case of a rate per second that is calculated by MRTG you can use the
options 'peminute' or even 'perhour' to display low numbers.

HTH,

Jan.

Subject: [mrtg] Decimal Places

Hello,

I am graphing DNS queries per second, but most of the time the servers
receive very few. For example a figure of 0.78002855998603615 is being
sent to MRTG via another script and others similar quite often.

Is it possible to force MRTG to calculate the figure to 1 or 2 decimal
places? It is currently rounding it up to the nearest whole number.

TIA

Craig
