For the archives.

It appears as if MaxBytes only limits what values will be newly recorded,
thus old values that exceed MaxBytes are not changed in any way.

The result is that setting MaxBytes fixed my problem, I simply needed to
wait until the old values were purged from the graphs to see the
improved scaling.
