[mrtg] indexmaker problem

dear all

i recently installed mrtg v. 2.9.17 on redhat
enterprise 4 and i have a minor problem with
indexmaker.

i'm running : 

/usr/local/mrtg/bin/indexmaker
--output=/var/www/html/stats/noc/voip/NEW/upst/index.html
/usr/local/mrtg/daemons/voip/NEW/mrtg/upstream.cfg

and the error message is : 

Possible precedence problem on bitwise | operator at
/usr/local/mrtg/bin/../lib/mrtg2/BER.pm line 601.
Can't locate package $VERSION for @MRTG_lib::ISA at
/usr/local/mrtg/bin//indexmaker line 49
        main::BEGIN() called at
/usr/local/mrtg/bin/../lib/mrtg2/MRTG_lib.pm line 49
        eval {...} called at
/usr/local/mrtg/bin/../lib/mrtg2/MRTG_lib.pm line 49

the weired thing is that the output on index.html file
is correct !

any ideas?
