[mrtg] question about polling 10 Gb interface on 4948 Cisco switch

Can someone please teell me what is the right way to poll the 10 GB
interface . I am not sure if MRTG understands the 10 GB by type ? Some
messages i saw suggest that the only way to do is ti use snmp v2. Any help
is appreciated
