[mrtg] MRTG and NORTEL Passport 8600 problem

Heya all,

We are using MRTG (2.16.2) for monitoring our NORTELs Passport 8600,
at the moment they have several ethernetCsmacd interfaces, handling
several 10Gbs and 1Gbs links. Since we started monitoring the NORTEL
switches, we are seeing the statistic flapping up and showing not
realistic values, suddenly we get 15 Tb of traffic or even more, which
it's not a real value :-). We have also to make the config file by
hand, because when we run the cfgmaker script, we got the following
warning (running cfgmaker printing the debug information):

--base: check for HighspeedCounters failed ... Dropping back to V1

Besides cfgmaker was not able to make a right config file, because the
10Gbs links were not configured properly:

  Created by
# /usr/local/mrtg/bin/cfgmaker --snmp-options :::::2 XXXXX at XXXXX --
output=XXXXX

					<td>176.3 MBytes/s</td>
				</tr>
			</table>
		</div>

As you can see the max speed is 176MBytes/s = 1401MBits/s, which it's
wrong, because it's a 10Gbits link. We changed it by hand to the right
values, and started monitoring the links.

Do anyone knows why MRTG are getting the wrong values, which are
producing the wrong statistic, why the cfgmaker are not working ok?

Many thanks in advance,
Carlos
