[mrtg] Problem Configuring MRTG with RRDTool

If you are  behind a proxy you need to run PPD.exe with proxy
authentication authentication, then run

1.    SET HTTP_proxy=<your proxy server (you must include "http://",
followed by a colon and the proxy port, if applicable; e.g., SET
HTTP_proxy=http://proxy:8080 

2.    SET HTTP_proxy_user=<your user name> (if required) 

3.    SET HTTP_proxy_pass=<your password> (if required) 

ppm install C:\Test\Modulename.ppd

Note that the RRDtool Perl modules is NOT only the RRDs.pm file, there
is also the auto/RRDs/RRDs.so (or .dll) as well.

 

The .ppd file is a package that needs to be installed, use the PPM.exe
command on this file to properly install.

Thank you Steve for your assistance. I did as you suggested, in several
different variations. It turns out that RRDTool has not been properly
installed. I have looked through the documentation to find how to do
this and even followed the steps provided in the Tutorials. The only
responses I received were the equivalent of  "could not find", even when
I placed the rrds.ppd directly on the D:\

 

I have tried using both the Windows Command Line and the Perl Package
Manager. Obviously, I seem to be doing something wrong, but I don't know
what it is.
