(OK, so I'm biased)
The book is nor UNIX-specific, and deals with both Windows and UNIX
situations. The vast majority of the configuration is OS-independent in any
case, so I believe it would fit your requirements.
http://www.steveshipway.org/book/ for details.
If you want to run it in a windows environment, and don't want the hassle of
finding all the required bits, you might like to look at the Open
Innovations Bundle install which installs everything required in one hit.
You can then subsequently upgrade RRDtool, MRTG and Routers2. This is
available from http://www.openinnovations.com/mrtgbundle.html but note that
the versions are a bit old, you'll probably want to upgrade RRDtool, MRTG
and Routers2. I know they are planning on making a new bundle soon with the
latest versions, but I don't know when its due out.
There is a CD ISO image available for free (see the Book URL above) or for
cost if you want physical media, which contains all the software packages
and more.

Subject: [mrtg] MRTG with RRDtool on book
Hi Everyone,
I've being using MRTG for quite sometimes now and loving it. Now I am
trying to setup RRDTool to work with MRTG in a Windows environment and
having a hard time getting it going (installation and download) because I've
often being dragged away for other daily tasks. So, I am wondering is there
a book out there I can buy? It has to be for Windows. I know Steve Shipway
has wrote "Using MRTG with RRDtool and Routers2" and I'm not sure his book
would fit my need. Can someone confirm that?
Cheers,
Kevin
