Hello,

I have one HP ProCurve 1800-24 switch that is not returning data within MRTG. MRTG is running on the newest Ubuntu. I have five HP ProCurve 1800-24, four return good data. The configuration is identical.

The problem switch returned good data for about a month then all ports returned flat-line output. Then I modified the /etc/cfg-files/sw240/240.cfg file by adding the unknaszero option to the line options[_]: growright, bits, unknaszero.

I have removed this options since. Once I added the unknaszero option the output from the switch stopped, MRTG graph empty.

Now in the log file /var/log/mrtg/mrtg.log I get the same results for every port on the problem switch:

date/time: WARNING: Can not determine ifNumber for public at 10.10.30.240: ref: 'Name' key: 'Port #1'

corresponding ERROR: Target[10.10.30.240_port_1][IN] ' $target->[10]{$mode} ' did not eval into defined data

This switch is the only switch I'm having trouble with. I have compared the configuration with the other switches and they seem to be identical. I'm missing something. I've tried removing the .old files, it didn't help.

within the /etc/mrtg.cfg file I did add the unknaszero option and since taken it away. This had no effect on my MRTG results.

WorkDir: /var/www/mrtg

I have gone as far as rebooting this machine.

Thank you in advance for any help.
