It looks like you have a network problem.
Try to ping that router from your mrtg server and look at the times.
It's likely that they are high sometimes.

It could also be a problem on your host.

You could perhaps change the timeout value (see the documentation) but
I think it will be better to work on your network (if it is really slow).
