hi all, After cleaning around the code, here are three patchs giving the modifications that i've made to run MRTG and monitor values at a 1 minute interval. These were done to be able to finelly monitor bandwith on a research high speed network. You then have to wait a maximum of a minute to see bandwith usage. It now shows 1 minute averages and 1 minute maximums. Modification summary -------------------- mrtg (the perl script): - Refresh interval set to 1 instead of 5; - RRD databases are created with new storage directives: 1 minute averages are kept for 24 hours; 10 minute averages are kept for 7 days; 1 hour averages are kept for 32 days; daily averages are kept 2 years. Thoses modifications are also reflected in the MRTG Perl module. The 14all CGI was modified mainly so that the headers show the new information stated above. The web site using the modified MRTG is not public. If some are curious I can open some access to an offline/public_data version. Patch info: Apply the patches to the distribution versions of: mrtg (2.9.17) MRTG_lib.pm (2.9.17) 14all-1.1.cgi (rcsid: 2.15) These are unified diffs. To patch the mrtg perl script for example: patch -p0 < patch-mrtg_2.9.17_1minute_interval.patch RRD databases MUST be re-created! If you used rateup, prior to patching, the text datafile will be nicelly injected in the new RRDs. cheers, Nick. ps: vote: should i set up a web page for this ? Should it be maintained ?
