Hi Dez: The community is public for sure. I am on the backone of the university network, I doubt there is any ACL in between. I just wonder if there is anyway I can check whether the SNMP is configured properly on the Squid box? (remotely from my machine) Thanks Suzy In message <20040906143739.GA25108@noc.otenet.gr> Dez Cadena writes: > probable causes: > - SNMP is not properly configured on the SQUID box (wrappers, snmpd.conf etc) > - some ACL in between is blocking SNMP > - wrong community > > On Mon, Sep 06, 2004 at 02:41:12PM +0100, j.wu1@lancaster.ac.uk wrote: > > Hello All: > > > I notice serveral ppl ask this question before. I am giving the access to its SNMP agent (my IP address is in the access list) and there is no firewall on the way to the proxy. With all these, I still can not cfgmaker properly. It will be great if somebody can help. > > > >>snmpwalk -v 2c -c public squidproxyipaddress:portno > > Timeout: No Response from squidproxyipaddress:portno -- Unsubscribe mailto:mrtg-request@list.ee.ethz.ch?subject=unsubscribe Archive http://www.ee.ethz.ch/~slist/mrtg FAQ http://faq.mrtg.org Homepage http://www.mrtg.org WebAdmin http://www.ee.ethz.ch/~slist/lsg2.cgi
